Asociaţia Solidart is an NGO that deals with community building and theatre practice. It is run as a cultural centre called Teatrul Basca (Basca Theatre) in the Traian quarter of Timişoara, which used to have a diverse and multicultural community made up of Hungarians, Germans, Austrians, Romanians, Croatians, Serbs, Czechs and Jews. The Traian quarter is now as diverse and alive, although the population has changed due to the passage of time and many political and historic events.
Asociaţia Solidart develops theatre projects using documentary theatre, forum theatre, classic form, performance and devised theatre. It also uses theatrical practice as a tool for bringing people together and telling stories. Because stories is what brings people together.
